Karen Tso

Karen Tso, MS, RD, LD, was a founding member of the AAHC in 1994, and served as HOPE Clinic's first clinic administrator in 2002, when the clinic was first established.  As clinic administrator, Ms. Tso recruited, coordinated and supervised clinical and other volunteers for clinic days each month.  Her leadership and organizational abilities contributed to the success of clinic days, resulting in much needed health services, health awareness and outreach for many uninsured and under-insured people.

Ms. Tso is particularly skilled in establishing trust and building collaborations among diverse Asian organizations that serve the disparate Asian communities.  Trained as a registered dietitian, Ms. Tso also operates a private practice and has more than 10 years experience with local acute and long-term care programs for the elderly, as well as the Area Agency on Aging.

As program director, Ms. Tso directs HOPE Clinic's Phoenix Project, which provides free mammogram screenings to low-income women in Houston.  Under her leadership, the program has surpassed its service and outreach goals every year since inception.
